Part Time Finance Manager
£17,784 - £21,736, (£32,760-£40,040 FTE), Ripon area, office based, working 15-20 hours per week, 24 days holiday entitlement plus bank holidays, closed between Christmas and New Year.
Due to the volume of business, we are currently recruiting for this brand-new Finance Manager position at this well-established legal firm based near Ripon.
The main purpose of this role is to support the practice manager and oversee the overall finance function. You will be responsible for the correct operation of the Solicitors Accounts Rules, supervise the wider finance team, and provide regular financial reports.
Part Time Finance Manager Requirements:
Process accurate daily reconciliations
Produce monthly financial reports
Authorise payments from company bank accounts
Produce and ensure SRA month end reports are signed off
Monitor any bad debts and put a plan in place
Preparation for the accountant's annual audit
Maintain accurate nominal ledgers
Manage petty cash and expenses
Write and bank cheques when required
Supervise the legal cashiers in the finance team
Provide holiday cover within the finance team when necessary
Assist with general accounting queriesThis Part Time Finance Manager role is a brand new position and would suit someone who is looking to step back, semi-retire or is just looking to work around school hours for the moment. This role would suit someone who has worked as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Management Accountant, Accounts Manager or Legal Cashier. If you have worked in a solicitors or legal environment and have an understanding of SARs (Solicitors Accounts Rules) and the SRA (Solicitors Regulations Authority) this would be preferred.
Requirements:
Previous finance management experience
AAT/ACCA/CIMA qualifications or equivalent, would also consider qualified by experience
An understanding of SRA and SARs preferred
Previous supervisory experience within a finance team
Excellent communication skills
IT proficiency
A good head for numbers and attention to detailThis is a part time role working around 19 hours per week. This is fully office based and you will be required in the office Monday to Friday however these hours can be worked within school hours with ideally one full day working 9am -5pm. This is a brand new role and responsibilities could be increased for the right candidate if this is something you would be looking for. we are looking to pay between £17,784-£21,736 (the full time equivalent would be £32,760- £40,040)
