The Children in Care Service (CiC) is for any child or young person aged under 18 years old who is in care or accommodated. The child or young person may live with foster carers, in residential homes, residential school, secure units, or with family members away from the family home.
There is a statutory requirement for each child or young person to have a holistic health assessment by a doctor within the first 28 days of becoming Looked After. Over 5’s are seen annually by a Children in Care Nurse unless they have complex health needs and are well known to a Community Paediatrician. Under 5’s are seen every 6 months by a Community Paediatrician. The Designated Nurse/Doctor also offers health advice and health promotion to the children and young people in care and anyone involved in that persons care.
The children in care and adoption administrator role is to support the administration process for the Children in care team under the direction of the Children in care and Adoption Supervisor
To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Children in Care and adoption team. To act as an effective link across CCHP staff, Schools, Childrens Social Care, GPs, the general public and other relevant bodies.
The post requires organisation, attention to detail and initiative to ensure that the best possible care is delivered to children, young people, their families and that targeted tasks are completed on time.
